Accessibility Statement

Our Commitment: Digital Notary Desk is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities. We believe all visitors should be able to easily research and book our Remote Online Notarization (RON) services, regardless of device type or the use of assistive technology. We are continually improving the user experience for everyone and applying relevant accessibility standards.

Conformance Status We strive to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA standards. To ensure this, we have utilized the Wix Accessibility Wizard to identify and resolve accessibility barriers on our website.

Steps Taken for Accessibility As part of our commitment, we have implemented the following on our site:

  • Visual Indicators: Enabled distinct focus rings for keyboard-only navigation.

  • Content Structure: Established a clear heading hierarchy (H1, H2, H3) for screen readers.

  • Alternative Text: Added descriptive "Alt Text" to all meaningful images.

  • Color Contrast: Verified that text-to-background color ratios meet readability standards.

  • Accessibility Wizard: Completed all actionable tasks and manual checks recommended by the Wix Accessibility Wizard.

Technical Specifications & Limitations Accessibility of this website relies on HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to work with your web browser and assistive technologies.

  • Third-Party Tools: Please note that while our website is built on Wix, some aspects of the notarization process are conducted through our RON platform provider: [e.g., Proof, BlueNotary, OneNotary]. While we select vendors who prioritize accessibility, we cannot guarantee full compliance within these third-party environments.

Accommodations for Virtual Sessions Remote Online Notarization involves live video and audio. If you require specific accommodations—such as a sign language interpreter, real-time captioning, or specialized assistance—please contact us prior to your appointment. As a Virginia-commissioned Notary, we will make every reasonable effort to accommodate your needs within the technical capabilities of our platform.

Feedback & Contact Information We welcome your feedback. Please let us know if you encounter accessibility barriers:

Virginia Law & Your Compliance: What You Need to Know

  1. ADA Title III: As a private business offering services to the public, you fall under Title III of the Americans with Disabilities Act. In 2026, courts increasingly look at WCAG 2.1 or 2.2 Level AA as the standard for "reasonable accessibility." By using the Wix Wizard, you are meeting this standard.

  2. Virginia Notary Law: Under Virginia law, you are an officer of the Commonwealth. While you must follow security protocols (like KBA), you cannot discriminate against a signer based on a disability. If a signer is visually impaired, for example, the RON platform must allow them to "hear" the document (screen reader) before they sign.

  3. Digital Records: Virginia requires a secure, encrypted recording of every RON session. Ensure your accessibility accommodations (like having an interpreter on the call) are also captured in that recording for your legal protection.
